Ian McHarg spent ten years in the British Armed Forces, and then six with the UK Ministry of Defence. He moved into the private sector in 2000 and currently works in the Middle East.

He writes about the tough training, daring raids, and indomitable fighting spirit of the Second World War Commandos and other Wartime Special Forces.

His writing and research has featured in numerous books and publications, including Lord Ashcroft’s Special Ops Heroes, James Owen’s Commando, Gavin Mortimer’s biography on the founder of the SAS, David Stirling, and Dispatches – The Journal of the Commando Association
